How the calculator works

How this influencer budget calculator does the math

The calculator uses the same rule we use to price every creator in a campaign: a creator is worth their real views, in thousands, times the CPM of the vertical. Every result comes from these 4 steps, and none of them uses follower count.

  1. 01

The median CPM of your vertical

Each vertical button loads the median CPM of the Ramped Index, recalculated on September 30, 2026: $4.46 for fintech (11 campaign rows in Argentina), $5.24 for iGaming (38 rows in Argentina and Chile), $6.69 for education and $25.71 for wellness (3 campaigns each).

  2. 02

    The ceiling per creator

The average views per creator, divided by 1,000 and multiplied by that CPM, give the creator’s theoretical ceiling, which is what their views are worth at the vertical’s median.

  3. 03

    The max offer per creator

The offer is capped at 80% of that ceiling, rounded down and never above the budget, so the projected CPM ends up at least 20% below the vertical’s median.

  4. 04

    Creators and projected views

The monthly budget divided by the max offer, rounded down, gives the creators activated, and creators times average views gives the projected views. The total spend never goes over the budget.

Worked example

$50,000 a month in fintech

These are the calculator’s default inputs: the fintech median CPM of $4.46, a monthly budget of $50,000 and 150,000 average views per creator.

  1. 01

    Ceiling: $669 per creator

150,000 views divided by 1,000 is 150, and 150 times the $4.46 CPM is $669.

  2. 02

    Max offer: $535 per creator

80% of $669 is $535.20, and the calculator rounds the offer down to $535.

  3. 03

    93 creators activated

$50,000 divided by $535 is 93.4, so the budget covers 93 creators, for a total spend of $49,755.

  4. 04

    13,950,000 projected views

93 creators times 150,000 views is 13,950,000 views, shown as 13.9M, at an effective CPM of $3.57.

FAQ

Questions about influencer budgets and CPM

  1. 01

How do you calculate an influencer marketing budget?

Multiply the real views you want to buy, in thousands, by the CPM of your vertical. At the iGaming median of $5.24, 2 million views cost $10,480. This calculator starts from that math per creator, with your monthly budget and the average views per creator, and applies an 80% cap to each offer, rounded down.

  2. 02

How is an influencer’s CPM calculated?

CPM is what the creator was paid divided by the real views of the post, times 1,000. A creator paid $535 for a post with 150,000 views had a CPM of $3.57.

  3. 03

How much should I pay an influencer per post?

Their recent real views, in thousands, times the CPM gives what the post is worth, and the calculator caps the offer at 80% of that number. For a creator who averages 200,000 views in fintech, that is $892 at the median and a max offer of $713.

  4. 04

Where do the CPMs in the calculator come from?

From the Ramped Index of influencer CPM benchmarks, built from campaigns Ramped executed and recalculated on September 30, 2026. A vertical is published once it has at least 3 campaign rows from 2 clients, so for other verticals we calculate the target CPM on a call with your market, platform and funnel.

  5. 05

Why does the calculator ask for views and not followers?

Followers do not see every post, and two creators with the same follower count can get very different views. We price creators on the real views of their recent posts, which is also why influencer marketing cost is measured per view and not per follower.

  6. 06

Is CPM the KPI Ramped optimizes?

No. CPM is how we price each creator, and we pay per creator and per post. Each campaign is measured on the brand’s KPI, such as CPA, CPI or ROAS, with a UTM link for each creator, so the CAC comes out as a result of the campaign.
